If you’re a budding photographer who loves taking scenic snapshots while on holiday, this is a great way to earn some money!

With the help of a service called FOAP that allows you to create your own web portfolio, interested buyers can purchase your photos. What’s more, this service also helps distribute your photos through partners like Getty Images, to attract more potential buyers. Sounds like a great way to earn money from your holiday, if you ask us!

So, how much does FOAP pay you? Well, each photo is sold for USD$10 (approx. RM42). FOAP takes a 50% commission, so you can earn USD$5 (approx. RM21) from EACH photo sold.

On top of that, you can also earn more by joining FOAP missions. If your entry is the winning image, FOAP pays a prize starting from at least USD$50 (approx. RM209), so you could earn hundreds from this!

Plus, it’s still a win-win situation, because even if your photo has not been selected as the winning image, other buyers usually purchase entries for FOAP missions.

Check out more information about FOAP on the Google Play or App Store

If you love visiting local shopping districts while on holiday, why not make some money out of that by signing up as a traveller for Jetspree?

This Malaysian-based service helps buyers purchase an item that can only be found overseas by getting a traveller to do the shopping for them. Here’s how it works;

1. After signing up as a traveller, post where you’re headed to and when you will be returning to Malaysia.

While hotels are still widely in-demand, a lot of people are turning to alternative types of accommodation while on holiday to get a different experience, but how about hosting your own home while you go travelling to earn some extra cash?

Apps like Airbnb and HomeAway are great options for people who want to rent out their homes for brief periods while they are out of town. This way, not only can you get someone to house-sit for you, but you’ll also earn some money on the side, too!

4. Work at a hostel

If you’re planning a long backpacking adventure, why not make some money out of it or save cash on accommodation by helping out at the hostel you plan on staying during your trip?

Websites like hosteljobs.net help you narrow down backpackers hostels where you can work and apply for a job right before your trip. All you have to do is key in the location you plan on visiting and you can check out a list of available hostels in that area. Some of the jobs you can apply for include;

  • Getting free stays by working 4-hour housekeeping shifts in the United States
  • Free stays at a hostel in exchange for becoming a party promoter in Prague
  • Paid hostel duty manager jobs in Hong Kong
  • Part-time hostel receptionist jobs in the United Kingdom
  • Paid hostel manager jobs in Sri Lanka

Not sure where exactly you want to travel to yet? You can also browse available hostel jobs from different countries to give you some ideas!

  • Internships

Teaching English overseas is definitely one way to make extra cash while travelling, too. Those who are TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certified can even earn between USD$2,000 and $3,000 (approx. RM8,300 and RM12,500) a month!
