Well, things may actually be a lot more dire than initially reported, because it has been revealed by Ministry of Health Secretary-General, Datuk Dr Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, that the attendance of the tabligh event was reported to be 60% lower than actual figures, according to Malay Mail.

In reality, the attendance of the tabligh event was up to 16,000 people and over 14,500 are Malaysians.

The rest are foreigners from people who lived around this region.

As of now, six Malaysians from the event have tested positive for Covid-19: three people from Negeri Sembilan, and one each from Sabah, Johor and Pahang. On the other hand, six Bruneians who attended the event tested positive for Covid-19, who then went on to infect five other people in Brunei. As of writing, Malaysia has recorded 158 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Health authorities are urging Malaysians who attended the event to contact the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre via its hotline at 03-8881 0200.
