Now that it’s election season again, we’re seeing flags and banners galore everywhere we set our eyes.

But, there’s one candidate who wasn’t put up a single poster for her campaign and it’s for a good cause!

Nur Fathiah Syazwana Shaharuddin, better known as Cleopatra, whose campaign sigil is a tree, took to her Twitter page to explain why you don’t see tree posters around the Batu (P115) constituency where she threw her hat in the ring as an independent candidate.

She wrote, “Many people are asking where my ‘Tree’ flags and banners are. But, what they don’t know is that my ‘Tree’ symbol has been everywhere for years.”

In a video, she shares that nature is her banner.

Tree 7

“If you all want to know, these trees ARE all my flags,” she said, referring to the gorgeous trees growing around.

“Every road and area has trees. When you think of those trees, you think of me. Candidate number 10 (there are 10 candidates running for the Batu constituency seat), vote for me.”

Many have since praised her for her unique and environmentally-friendly campaign style

Tree 4

“Thank you for not being wasteful (and not destroying the environment) with banners that are not environmentally-friendly. It’s the year 2022, I don’t understand why there’s still the 60’s style of banners and flags.”

Tree 5

“Yass make elections sustainable! All these flags and posters will just end up in the trash.”

Tree 3

“Saves money, reduces printing and buntings, reduces rubbish after campaigning.”
