This is such a brutal case.

According to Coconuts, a 24-year-old woman from Kalimantan, Indonesia was arrested for allegedly killing her newborn baby and subsequently leaving the baby’s body in a freezer for months.

The newborn’s body was discovered in a freezer at a car wash she worked at. The woman, known simply as “SA”, confessed that the baby was born in May.

While the police suspects that she may have killed her own baby, SA claims that the baby came out as a stillborn after she secretly gave birth to the baby by herself in her bathroom at home.

Not knowing what to do, she decided to wrap the baby’s body in plastic and hide it in her fridge. Afraid that someone would find it, she then decided to hide the baby in the freezer at her husband’s car wash, where she worked as a cashier.

“The motive is she didn’t want (the baby), she was ashamed because she had already had her first child who was born without any status, no birth certificate. That was her motive at that time,” stated East Kalimantan Police Chief Irjen Safaruddin.

SA is reportedly her husband’s fourth wife. Although polygamy is legal in Indonesia, many people choose to officiate such unions unofficially because of how stringent the requirements are.

Let’s hope the authorities take appropriate action to resolve this issue soon.
