To celebrate this year’s National Day and Malaysia Day, the Ministry of National Unity (KPN), together with the National Archives of Malaysia (ANM), has rolled out a special initiative called “Anak Merdeka Malaysia.”

In a statement, the Ministry of National Unity shared that the programme honours Malaysians born on the nation’s two historic dates (August 31 and September 16) as a powerful symbol of Malaysia’s struggle, independence, and unity.

Registration is open to ALL Malaysians!

Minister of National Unity, Dato Sri Aaron Ago Dagang, said the initiative is more than just a birthday celebration but also about embracing a deeper sense of national pride and identity.

Registration is now open to all Malaysian citizens born on these historic dates, regardless of background, age, or ethnicity.

Those who sign up will get a special chance to take part in various activities during the national-level celebrations, receive commemorative gifts, and be honoured as symbolic heroes who represent the spirit of unity in Malaysia.

“Through Anak Merdeka Malaysia, we’re not just marking birthdays. We’re bringing together the voices of Malaysians under one national identity. This is the true spirit of Malaysia MADANI, a nation that cherishes its history, inspires hope, and unites its people,” he said.

“This is our opportunity to strengthen our patriotic spirit”

The Ministry is calling on all Malaysians to help spread the word to family, friends, and their local communities so more people can be celebrated as part of the Merdeka legacy.

“This is our opportunity as citizens to strengthen our patriotic spirit through meaningful and inclusive participation,” the statement added.

Registration can be easily done by scanning the QR code on the announcement poster or by visiting the official link here.
