A recent incident has caught the attention of many netizens, including UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr Akmal Saleh, after an individual accused him of “stealing”.
The individual also alleged that Akmal had used the stolen money to help others, even likening him to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Akmal Saleh demands apology over “stolen money” claim
Taking to Facebook, Akmal hit back at the accusation, calling it an “insult” and demanding a public apology from the individual.
He said while he could accept criticism and differing opinions, accusing him of stealing and using the money to help others was a different matter.
“I can accept any criticism. However, accusing me of stealing and using stolen money to help others is an insult to me. Having differing opinions is not a problem, but making accusations and insulting the assistance given to the people is unacceptable.
“Therefore, I demand that this individual, Shafii Halid, issue a public apology within two hours of this post being published,” he wrote.
Akmal also warned that he would take the matter to court if the individual failed to issue an apology within the given timeframe.

“If you want to comment, please do so with facts”
The individual has since apologised to Akmal, saying he regretted the comment and hoped to be forgiven.
“Peace be upon you, Dr Akmal Saleh. I would like to publicly apologise for the comment I made on your post. I hope you can forgive me.
“I apologise again for only posting this apology this morning, as I had just turned on my phone and saw many people tagging me with abusive comments, even going as far as tagging my wife, who had nothing to do with what I did. Once again, I sincerely apologise and hope you can forgive me,” he wrote.
Akmal has also reminded the public to take the incident as a lesson.
“If you want to comment, please do so with facts and not by making accusations as you please. If we cannot do good, do not insult those who do good for society,” he added.
