From putting out fires to saving your cats from the roof, there’s not much that our heroic abang bomba can’t do. In any given situation, these heroes will always try their best to ensure the safety of those who need their help. A recent incident has proven that abang bomba are superheroes and a blessing to have in our community.
A woman who is believed to be suffering from depression was determined to jump into the sea from Jambatan Tok Pasai in Kuala Kedah on Saturday (18 July). However, she was successfully stopped by our abang bomba who spent about 10 minutes convincing her not to do so.
As reported by Harian Metro, the incident occurred at 3.30 pm and the 29-year-old lady went to the bridge to jump from the height of 30 meters. She was half-conscious and crying when they found her at the bridge.
Assistant Director of Fire and Rescue Operations Division, Kedah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Senior Superintendent of Fire I Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said they received a call regarding the incident at 3.40 pm. A team from Alor Setar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) led by Senior Fire Officer (PBK) II Ahmad Nozlan Zakaria arrived at the location at 3.54 pm.
Fortunately, as mentioned earlier, they managed to convince her not to jump and she was then taken to safety. Kudos to the Fire and Rescue Department for their swift action that led to a life being saved that day!
