There have been countless exposés of restaurants with unhygienic practices and patrons finding things they are not supposed to in their food.

Recently, another one of these stories has caught the attention of netizens.

A video of a woman in Jakarta feeling up a piece of fried ‘chicken’ from a box of rice has gone viral on Instagram.

As of the time of writing, the video shared by the Instagram account @undercover.id has 1.9 million views.

Now, we have heard of the horrors of people finding lizards or other insects in their food, but this netizen takes the cake.

It is difficult to make out what the thing is as it is fried, but it appears that the netizen had found a rat’s tail in what was supposed to be a piece of fried chicken!

A netizen also commented, “I am an ayam penyet expert. I handle chicken every day, and just from the texture of the meat, you can tell that that is not chicken.”

That sounds so gross!

Netizens are disgusted

Horrified by the video, netizens shared their thoughts in the comments section.

“Rat?? If you look at the tail, it looks like a rat. The seller has been cheeky, but he didn’t use his brain to get rid of the tail,” said one netizen.

“I don’t want to buy food sold outside anymore.”

Another netizen was surprised at how the woman still dared to touch the fried ‘chicken’ if she suspected it to be rat meat.

Maybe not buying food sold outside is a bit extreme, but we would definitely be checking our food before eating now!
