Sigh, yet another case of an abandoned baby.

A newborn baby boy, with his umbilical cord still intact, was found in a rubbish bin in front of a 99 Speedmart in Ampang Jaya.

This incident happened on the morning of 25 May when a security guard brought his dog along to patrol the area at 6am.

According to The Star, the dog started barking endlessly when they were near the area. Suddenly, the guard heard the baby’s cries, so he opened the rubbish bin cover, and he saw the baby boy lying in the bin.

He called the police for help, and the baby was then sent to Ampang Hospital for a checkup.

Fortunately, the baby sustained no injuries, but the baby’s condition still needs to be monitored by doctors. It was also confirmed that it was a newborn that was birthed not long ago, according to China Press.

The police are currently investigating the clinics and hospitals nearby to track the mother’s whereabouts.

The security guard told Harian Metro,

“I thought there’s something suspicious about the dumpster before I heard a loud cry coming from it. Thus, I was startled to see a baby boy in that bin, and still alive!”

The netizens were saddened to see this news and have expressed their thoughts.

A person was relieved that the security dog found the baby, he commented, “Dogs really are a man’s best friend. Luckily the baby was found in time; otherwise, he could’ve died in the dumpster.”

Others thought that dumping the baby was inhumane and that it would be a much better idea to let someone else adopt him.

“Since the baby was already born, let someone else adopt him if you don’t want to raise him. Why would you want to throw him away into the dumpster? This is murder. Unforgivable.”

“Give the baby to me if you don’t want him! Don’t throw him away like some garbage. Poor thing!”

It’s very cruel and irresponsible of the baby’s parents to do such an act. They had so many better options: contraception, abortion, and adoption. Not murder.
