It is already Day 27 into the Movement Control Order and by this time, it should already be common knowledge that we should all stay at home. However, a group of nine people flouted the order yesterday (12th April) and were caught by the police! Bravo, PDRM!

According to The Star, the police have arrested nine people who were partying at a karaoke centre in Jalan Burma, Penang.

The Penang Assistant Commissioner said that all nine of the suspects were arrested, including the owner of the karaoke centre and also two Indonesian women. The police raided the vicinity at 1am in the morning following a public tip-off and they found the group in one of the karaoke rooms in the entertainment centre.

All of the detained had to do urine tests and six men emerged positive for drugs. The whole group was detained under Regulation 11 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease Regulations 2020, and Section 269 of the Penal Code. As for the drug positive men, they are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The Covid-19 pandemic is very serious and in order for us to get back to our daily lives, we should all be staying at home so that the infection chain can be broken and the MCO will not be extended again.
