7yo Girl in Kajang Dies After Long-Term Abuse at Home, Her Parents May Face The Death Penalty

A 7-year-old girl in Kajang recently passed away due to long-term abuse she had to experience at home.

In an official statement by PDRM in Kajang, the district Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, said that Hospital Kajang informed PDRM that the victim, who was brought in by her parents in an unconscious state, had passed away in the emergency room’s red zone at the hospital.

A post-mortem conducted at 12:30 PM yesterday (January 29) showed multiple signs of both old and new abuse marks on the victim’s body.

The cause of death was due to injuries to the abdomen caused by a blunt object.

Both suspects, who are also the parents of the deceased girl, aged 38 and 40, were arrested at 1:11 AM on the suspicion of abusing their daughter and causing the latter’s death. They were arrested and remanded at the Kajang Court today for investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

If found guilty, both suspects may face the death penalty or a jail time of not more than 40 years, as well as a fine.

PDRM also said that anyone with any information regarding the case can contact any nearby police station or the investigating officer, Assistant Superintendent Nur Ayuni Abd Aziz, at 016-2080717.
