Getting a parking spot is perhaps one of the concerns that we have to think about prior to going to a place as sometimes, the experience can be hectic, especially during peak hours.

However, it is never a reason to park anywhere we deem fit which may cause a nuisance to others. Today (4 March), a Twitter user shared an incident of an inconsiderate driver who parked his 4X4 vehicle on the walkway for pedestrians. While that is not a specific walkway for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), the passageway would have certainly eased them a lot.

The image below shows a PwD who had trouble using the walkway and using the road would certainly be risky and dangerous.

“How do you expect the OKU to go through? If you want a parking lot with rooftop then get a landed house,” the user said.

WORLD OF BUZZ reached out to the person who shared about this incident and we were told that it happened this morning somewhere in Putrajaya. It is also revealed that the authorities have taken action on the car that was parked on the pedestrian’s walkway.

PwD is not getting enough respect

The tweet has since gone viral and netizens have a lot to say about the incident. One of them expressed what he feels towards the lack of appreciation that PwD has to endure.

“The society is still not appreciating them. In malls alone, the ramps for wheelchairs are not enough. Some TV shows don’t even have subtitles for the people with hearing disabilities.”

A netizen actually took the liberty to check his plate number and found out that the owner of the 4X4 has pending summons worth RM2,400.

“I saw a lot of people who had done the same recently in Putrajaya Hospital. The parking spots across the road was not even full.”

To park someplace which is not meant for vehicles and trouble others is truly uncalled for. It does not hurt if we have to walk a few extra steps to our destinations. These random-parking habits have to stop.
