Police have arrested three men for allegedly committing an obscene act after they were filmed urinating by the side of the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) Highway here yesterday.
According to Berita Harian, the incident came to light after a 16-second video surfaced on social media at around 2am.

It was also reported that the video clearly displayed the three men stopping their multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) right by the side of the busy expressway with its hazard lights flashing.
Recognising the reckless nature of stopping on a major highway for such activities, a concerned member of the public quickly lodged a formal police report at approximately 6:11 pm the same day.
Swift arrests made in Taman Maju Jaya
In a statement on Facebook, Polis Daerah Johor Bahru Selatan said that they had successfully apprehended all three suspects, aged between 28 and 36 years old, at a restaurant located in Taman Maju Jaya, Johor Bahru, at around 9:30 pm.
During the operation, they also seized the MPV believed to have been used during the commission of the offense.
“One of the three suspects has a past criminal record. All three of them tested negative for drugs,” said Superintendent Ng Swie Chait in the statement.
Facing charges for gross indecency
The case is being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code for gross indecency. If convicted, the offender may be sentenced to imprisonment for up to two years.
The police said that the investigation paper is being finalised and will soon be referred to the state Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) for further legal action.
Authorities also reminded motorists to prioritise public order, safety, and basic decency, emphasising that stopping indiscriminately on expressways not only violates the law but poses severe safety hazards to other road users.
