A 26-year-old Malaysian single mother made the difficult decision to take up a job in Singapore, leaving her seven-year-old son behind in hopes of giving him a better life.
She placed her son in a children’s home in Teluk Intan, Perak, in a heartbreaking effort to secure his future.

Emotional farewell as mother parts with her son
According to Sin Chew Daily, a touching moment unfolded before the woman left when her son quietly poured a cup of water and slowly walked over to her, gently encouraging her to drink it.
Unable to hold back her emotions, the woman took the cup and broke down in tears as she hugged her son.
As they said their goodbyes, she reminded him to behave well and study hard while she was away.
Having gone through two marriages, the woman gave birth to her son when she was just 18. Following her first divorce, she struggled financially and had to raise him on her own, leading to the boy being placed under the care of his aunt from a young age.

“We can nurture his future together”
The woman later remarried and had two more children, but her second marriage is now also going through divorce proceedings.
As financial pressures continued to mount, the aunt was no longer able to care for the boy in the long term, prompting the woman to take up a job in Singapore.
Meanwhile, a group of representatives from Anson Jaz Home (安順傑護幼之家) travelled from Teluk Intan to Sekinchan to escort the boy to the welfare home.
“While we cannot change what she has been through, we can work together to give her son a better future,” they said.
