24yo Man Fined RM10k for Forcing 5yo Niece to Drink Ketum Juice for TikTok Content

A 24-year-old man pleaded guilty to mistreating his niece after forcing her to drink ketum juice before recording and uploading the video on social media.

The electrical wiring worker pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court, where Judge Osman Affendi Mohd Shalleh fined him RM10,000, which he paid, as reported by Harian Metro.

He forced his 5yo niece to drink ketum juice

The accused, who isn’t married, was accused of mistreating a five-year-old girl by making her drink ketum juice. The incident happened at a house in Rengit at 10:51 PM on November 2.

Police arrested him on November 4 after a video of him forcing the child to drink it went viral on social media.

The case was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Sharifah Natasha Syed Ahmad, while the accused didn’t have a lawyer to represent him.

He’s required to do 120 hours of community service

Besides the fine, the court also put him on a two-year good behaviour bond with a RM2,000 surety and ordered him to do 120 hours of community service within six months.

He was charged under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and could be punished under Sections 31(1) and 31(2) of the same Act.
