One of the hardest things about not being able to go out is missing the best nasi lemaks, and when I mean the best, I mean road side aunty nasi lemaks.

For some though, it’s harder than others to a point where they break under the pressure.

24 people were arrested for breaking the rules of the Movement Control Order (MCO) by going out at 2am because they were craving for nasi lemak. Those arrested are aged between 13 to 40, including two women. They were caught gathered at the back of a house in Mukim 3, Sungai Pinang, where a 23-year-old was operating a nasi lemak stand.

The vendor was obviously also detained, as according to the New Straits Times.

“The seller claimed that he operated the stall since last year. He did not possess any business operating license from the local council. He violated the MCO for operating his stall beyond the hours allowed,” said Southwest district police chief Superintendent A. A. Anbalagan.

The arrests will be investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020.

Still thinking of sneaking out for nasi lemak?
