Sometimes, when people face tough and dire situations, it may seem like there is no way out except to end their own lives.

These situations include breaking up with a partner, being extremely stressed out about their studies or finances and more.

Unfortunately, a 20-year-old boy from Gombak who was at his wits end claimed his own life after he was allegedly being blackmailed with footage of him masturbating.

It all started when the victim started interacting with girls online. His family is unable to trace when he started interacting with these people as he had deleted the information, but his phone did contain several dating apps.

This endeavour eventually led to him apparently being filmed while masturbating.

A group of individuals then got hold of this indecent footage of him and used it to extort money from him.

The victim had supposedly given them RM1,000 on 14th September, but was asked for another RM2,000. If he failed to pay the additional fee, the footage would be sent to his family and friends.

It was later reported that some relatives and friends did indeed receive the indecent footage of the victim.

The victim was distressed by the whole issue but did not want to concern his family about it. So, he wrote his family a goodbye note before taking his own life.

Losing a loved one

His mother claims that her son had been a quiet and well-behaved child. He was the youngest of 5 siblings and loved his mother very much.

“He would accompany me at night before heading to bed and (would) give me a massage. He was also responsible for the worship at home, so I didn’t need to worry about it,” said the mother, sharing that her son would care for her whenever he could.

Demanding justice

Currently, the victim’s family hopes that the authorities can find the perpetrators as soon as possible.

The case has been reported to the police and a few phone numbers thought to be involved has been surrendered to the authorities.

“We don’t think it’s shameful, we want justice for (my) son.”

MCA State Liaison Committee member Sdr. Ng How Doo has backed up the family by commending them for their bravery in exposing the incident.

The victim’s mother was in tears as she shared that this was the 3rd year since her husband’s passing. She did not expect to lose her son so soon.

WORLD OF BUZZ extends our condolences to the family. May justice be served and the deceased find peace.
