A convenience store employee was seriously injured after being attacked with a machete during a violent robbery on Sunday (31 May). The shocking incident was captured by the store’s surveillance cameras and has since circulated widely on social media.
According to the camera footage, the robbery occurred at approximately 7:12 PM when a Singapore-registered vehicle pulled up outside the convenience store. Three men dressed in black exited the car; two of the suspects entered the premises, while the third remained outside to act as a lookout.

Unprovoked attack on employee
Additional footage from inside the store revealed that both suspects who entered were armed with machetes. One of the attackers approached a male employee sitting behind the counter and repeatedly slashed him before turning his attention to stealing items from the store.

The victim was slashed mercilessly despite not fighting back. Within about 30 seconds, the two men rushed back out of the store and fled the scene with their accomplice in the waiting vehicle.

Public rushes to assist victim
Video footage shows the injured victim attempting to wipe away the blood with his clothing and trying to stop the bleeding as it pooled on the floor around him. Members of the public were also seen rushing into the store to check on the victim and offer assistance.
The footage, however, did not reveal the exact location of the robbery, and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
