Two customers seated at a restaurant were injured after a vehicle crashed into the premises along Jalan Papar Lama, Up Town Nambazan, on Wednesday evening (15 April).
The incident, which occurred at 5:27 PM, went viral on social media later that day. The accident involved a grey Perodua Myvi driven by the suspect.

Police report and investigation
Penampang Deputy District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Erwansyah Abdul Basir, confirmed that police received a report regarding the two-vehicle collision depicted in the viral footage.
“Preliminary investigations found that the incident began when a vehicle driven by a local woman was reversing out of a parking space and collided with another car behind her,” he stated.
“As a result of the collision, the driver of the second vehicle is believed to have accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal. This caused the car to lose control and mount the kerb of a nearby eatery,” he explained in a statement on Thursday (16 April).

The two diners, a man and a woman, sustained only minor injuries and received outpatient treatment. Both drivers involved in the incident were unharmed.
The case is currently being investigated under Rule 17 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959. Police have advised the public to exercise caution while driving and to refrain from speculating about the incident on social media.
