The Star reported that three teenagers raped an 18-year-old who’s deaf and mute in Semporna, Kota Kinabalu. They confessed to raping her in a hut near her house along Jalan Kalumpang. The report further revealed the girl’s father found her sitting on the ground and crying about 20m away from their house.

Prior to that, the father looked all over the vicinity for his daughter at 2am after he realised she was missing from home. After her dad found her, the girl used sign language to tell her father about the horrific incident. Then, he checked the hut and saw four boys in it. The girl identified three of them as her rapists to her father.

Following that, the three teenagers were arrested by the police, and they were remanded for seven days to assist with the investigation. According to Semporna OCPD Supt Sabarudin Rahmat, the girl is now receiving a medical examination. On that note, we hope that the authorities will quickly prosecute the perpetrators and give them punishments accordingly.
