During these past weeks, there were many cases where a child has been reported missing, and the most recent known case is a 14-year-old who had run away from his boarding school.

It is said that the boy, Muhammad Daniel Akmal Zulkhairi, was missing from his school, Sekolah Menengah Sains Alam Shah, Jalan Yaacob Latif, Cheras, on December 7 and found in a weak state at the Saidina Othman Mosque in Bandar Tun Razak on 8 December.

When asked why he ran away from the boarding school, he said his friends had bullied him.

Speaking to BERNAMA on this matter, the 14-year-old’s mother, Shuhada Jamaludin, 38, said that she will be lodging a police report on this matter soon when her son is in stable condition.

“The doctor has said that my son is still not stable and requires rest. After he recovers, I will lodge a police report over the bullying he faced. I want justice for my son.”

She added, “For now, I do not want to force him to tell his story. I will wait till his condition is stable.”

The mother recounted that her child had told her about the bullying before, but she did not think that it was so serious and had asked him to resolve it amicably.

The Ministry of Education has also said they are looking into this matter, but according to the mother, no one from the ministry has contacted her yet.

We hope the case can be resolved soon, as bullying is never okay.
