11yo Thai Girl Dies Allegedly After Getting Vaccinated In School As Doctor Didn’t Know She Had A Fever

A devastated mother took to Facebook on 30 August to share the tragic news of her daughter’s passing after she was given a vaccine for cervical cancer.

In the heartbreaking post, the mother explained that her 11-year-old child went to school but had a fever. The school employed a doctor to give vaccinations for cervical cancer but when it was the girl’s turn to be vaccinated, the doctor didn’t take her body temperature. Hence, he didn’t know she had a fever and proceeded to inject her with the vaccine.

“My child developed angina (chest pains caused when the heart muscle does not receive enough oxygenated blood), vomited, and later died. My child had no underlying disease. She was healthy as usual. Please help me share this case,” penned the grieving parent in her post.

Many netizens expressed their condolences to the deceased child’s parents and questioned why the doctor didn’t test or ask the child for symptoms of other diseases before vaccinating her. Others say that the school should also be held responsible for the loss.

Thailand’s Ministry of Health has a nationwide cervical cancer vaccination policy for all fifth graders to ensure the health of their youth.
