According to ET Today, the police received a report on September 9 about a woman who was on the eleventh floor of a building who wanted to jump down, so they rushed over to help. When they arrived, they found the husband holding back the struggling wife from jumping down and together, they brought her down.

When the hysterical woman had calmed down a little, the police tried to understand what had triggered her to want to commit suicide. To their surprise, she said that it was because her husband didn’t want to give her money to buy new clothes. Err, what?

In a video circulating on Chinese social media, the angry wife can be seen sitting down on the floor while she is screaming at her husband. She said, “Because of some clothes that cost only about RMB100 (RM60), he gave me an annoyed expression and was very unwilling to give me the money. Only RMB100 (RM60), but he doesn’t want to give it to me. When I asked him for it again, he reluctantly handed me the money and headed out without bothering about me. He left me all alone!”

During this tirade, her husband was just standing there beside her with a sulky expression on his face but he didn’t say a single word. Meanwhile, the perplexed police could only do their best to calm the angry woman down and advised the couple to talk through their problems properly without resorting to drastic actions.

Netizens who saw the news had mixed reactions as some of them said that if the woman wanted to buy things, she should stay financially independent so that she doesn’t have to be solely dependent on her husband. However, others said that it wasn’t worthwhile to waste her life on a man who doesn’t care for her.
