Ah the joy you felt when Encik JPJ finally passed you on your driving test (please ah, no rasuah)!

One man in China felt that same joy when he finally passed his driving test and decided to take his car out for a drive. Well technically, he felt overjoyed, because 10 minutes after getting behind the wheel, he drove his car straight into a river. As reported by LadBible, Zhang, who is from China, was reading messages of his friends congratulating him on his phone when there were suddenly two pedestrians in front of him. In order to avoid hitting them, he decided to turn left, instead of just…uhm…braking?

“While I was driving, I tried to grab my phone and read some messages while two people were in front of me on the bridge. I became nervous and turned left suddenly,” he said.

The fortunate part is that he managed to escape the car before it sank. Local residents who stood witness handed him some dry clothes and phoned the police to help get his car out. The unfortunate part is that the entire scenario was caught on CCTV in the city of Zunyi, province of Guizhou. For the time being, there is no word yet as to whether he will be charged with anything, but it seems to me, he has already paid for his overconfidence, since he had such short-lived happiness.

Don’t text and drive guys! What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments!
