WATCH: M’sian Claims Police Officer Assaulted Him, Gets Arrested After it Turns Out That He Attacked First

When it comes to a fight, there is often a he said she said situation where both parties claim that the other party was the one that initiated it first.

Recently, a trailer driver shared a video on TikTok where he claimed that he was assaulted by a traffic policeman at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex in Tanjung Kupang, Johor, yesterday (17 October).

He claimed that the incident which has since gone viral took place around 10:20am.

In the video he shared, he showed a bruise on his arm and he claimed that the officer had attacked him for no reason with a metal pipe.

However, in a turn of events, a statement released by the police shared that upon exiting his vehicle, he had punched the traffic police twice in the face and kicked his motorbike.

Based on a preliminary investigation, the police alleged that the trailer was driven in the right lane which was designated for light vehicles.

The driver allegedly refused to cooperate during an inspection and cursed at the police personnel which eventually led to a bust up between the two.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief ACP Rahmat Ariffin said that the driver has since been apprehended at the location at 1pm on the same day to help with the investigation.

An investigation paper has been opened under Section 353 of the Penal Code and a remand application against the driver will be made at the Johor Baru court today.
