People with mental disabilities require attention and safe spaces, but unfortunately, many of them end up in positions of homelessness on our streets.

But what happens when these individuals also end up being dangerous?

The Inforoadblock Facebook page took to their profile to showcase a video of a mentally disabled man, who is threatening road users in Sarawak, by pretending to swing a large, long stick at them like a baseball bat as they pass by.

They wrote, “A video has gone viral, of a man believed to be mentally challenged, causing chaos by pretending to swing a stick at the public and vehicles in Jalan Lanang, Sibu, yesterday afternoon (August 1). It is understood that although no one was injured, the man’s actions were dangerous and unsettling to the public.”

In the video, the man can be seen standing in the middle of the road as he threatened road users with the long stick. One car even had to stop and honk at him as he was blocking their way.

Adding to the unfortunate situation, netizens believe violence should be the answer (when violence should never be the answer).

“Give him a kick.”

Oku 2

“Just hit him and let him die.”

We genuinely hope that the authorities take notice of this, gets the man off of the streets and surrenders him where he can receive help and care.
