If the lock got stuck and it don’t look good, who you gonna call? Abang bomba!

Recently, a Twitter thread by a Malaysian named Aizad Chan went viral when he recorded his losing battle with his locked toilet door after getting stuck inside the bathroom. Seems like an innocent mistake anyone could make, right?

Only one problem with that though; he’s living alone! Yikes, then how lah?!

After twisting, turning, taekwondo-kicking and terajang-ing the doorknob to no avail, Aizad resorted to the only option available to him in such a dire situation – calling the bomba for help.

Well, thank the heavens that Aizad brought his mobile phone along to the toilet, because if he didn’t, he probably would have been stuck in there till today! He even screenshotted himself calling the emergency hotline here:

After waiting inside the toilet for almost half an hour, the Fire and Rescue Department finally arrived and broke him free from his toil and misery. Seriously, what would we do without these unsung heroes, right?

You can watch the full video of the rescue here:

Of course, the whole incident invited a ton of questions from throughout the Twittersphere, such as this one person who asked Aizad how the bomba managed to get into his house so easily.

That does sound like a fair question. The answer? Aizad forgot to lock his house door that night. Aiya, that’s not a good habit lah!

There was also someone questioning the need to call the Fire and Rescue Department for such trivial matters but Aizad asserted that the abang bomba themselves agreed it was the correct decision because even they could not open the door after using a hammer and battering ram!

Woah, who would’ve thought a toilet door could be so durable?

I know what you guys are thinking, why did he bring his phone inside the toilet to shower in the first place? Well, this tweet pretty much sums it all up:

“To those who ask why he brought the phone: What is a shower without a little concert, if you know what I mean?”

Who would’ve thought a little shower karaoke session could end up as an emergency situation? So the next time you go into the toilet, always remember to bring your smartphone okay!

What do you think of the whole incident? Would you have done the same as Aizad did? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section!
