This Wedding Ceremony in Indonesia is Going Viral for Including Coldplay Concert Tickets as Dowry

In a surprising turn of events, the age-old tradition of dowry in Indonesian weddings has taken a contemporary twist.

Instead of the customary exchange of money, a groom in Indonesia recently surprised everyone by including tickets to the upcoming Coldplay concert in Indonesia as dowry.

The highly anticipated Coldplay concert is scheduled to take place on November 15th, 2023 in Jakarta.

Fans of the British rock band have been eagerly waiting for this momentous occasion! And, people actually go to war for the tickets!

When news of the groom’s unique dowry spread, social media was practically on fire!

The viral video was uploaded by a Twitter account named rhfndtaaa @orangdalamkamu.

According to @orangdalamkamu, the video features the wedding of their sibling, where during the marriage ceremony, one of the dowries mentioned was Coldplay concert tickets.

In the video, during the solemnization ceremony (ijab kabul), the mentioned dowries ranged from precious metals to prayer tools, and finally, the Coldplay tickets.

“I marry and unite my biological child, Anastasya Ayu Widiadana, with you, with a dowry of 21 grams of precious metal, a set of prayer tools, and Coldplay tickets paid in cash,” said the bride’s father.
