This inspiring story tells us that fortune really favours the bold.

Three siblings from Kuala Terengganu have always had a dream of starting their own business. So, they started building their capital by saving every single sen that they could get a hold of.

After six months, the trio – Mohd Anuar Arifin, 32, Mohd Al Fatah, 30, and Mohd Sufian, 23 – amassed a total of RM8,000, and decided to use that money to become fish vendors. Initially, they didn’t feel good about it as there were too many competitors in the area, but that didn’t stop them.

“At first, our business did not receive much attention, but thanks to our patience and strategy of offering the fish at a cheaper price, the business started booming. We’d sell our fish RM1 to RM2 (per kg) cheaper than the market price,” he said.

Besides that, they’ve also learnt to diversify their products by reinvesting their profit into selling vegetables and fruits, including durians. This has massively expanded their platform so much so that it now looks like a ‘mini market’.

Currently, the brothers are earning between RM3,000 and RM4,000 per day. What’s more impressive was that during the month of Ramadan, they managed to earn up to RM8,000 per day!

“We have to restock almost every day,” Mohd Anuar said.

It was understood that prior to this business, both of his younger brothers had no stable income, but things have significantly changed after that. Now, not only do they have consistent income, they can even save some for their future!

The youngest brother said he doesn’t mind smelling like fish every day and being judged for running a business by the road side. They most probably earn more than those who judge them anyway.

We congratulate these brothers for their success and hopefully more youngsters can look up to them and follow their footsteps!
