One of the “beauties” that we can perhaps see during this flood crisis is how people are coming forward and trying to ease the burden of the disaster victims, regardless of their backgrounds.

One of the many individuals who contributed to the flood victims is none other than the Queen of Malaysia, also known as Raja Permaisuri Agong.

On Tuesday (21 December), Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah had personally prepared the food which would be distributed to the flood victims who are still seeking shelter in Kuantan’s Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS). She did so in a dedicated cooking space in Kolej Yayasan Pahang Advanced Skills in Kuantan.

According to a post by Istana Pahang, the Queen has always loved cooking. Her passion for cooking started as early as 6-years-old. The fact that the Queen was born rich has never been an excuse to make her stay off the heat of the kitchen.

All the equipment and ingredients used are from the disposal of her very own kitchen in the palace as she has not used nor taken anything from the PPS.

However, she did not cook alone. The Queen cooked in a small group alongside the palace officers, as well as the culinary students from Kolej Yayasan Pahang who also joined the cooking.

In total, the cooking process took around 12 hours and a number of 1000 packs of rice, with 13 different dishes were distributed to the victims.

You can watch the video of the Queen and the team cooking for the flood victims in Kuantan below.

#istanapahang

As the flood in the country is yet to completely recede, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims! To see Malaysians unite and help anyone in need is truly heartwarming.
