During this pandemic, most of us are only allowed to work remotely as we can’t go out to our offices. However, have you ever thought of how labourers can work from home?

A post of how some miners in Henan, China has gone viral on social media and most of the netizens were marvelled by this use of technology.

Chinese news portal, CCTV said that the workers were able to operate the machinery remotely because of the application of 5G Technology.

The mining company (Sandaozhuang Mine of China Molybdenum Co., Ltd.) in Luanchuan County, central China’s Henan Province had been using 5G ever since 2019.

“With its high speed and low latency, the technology enables workers to remotely control vehicles and machineries at the mine with precision.”

According to StackPath, latency is the delay between a user’s action and a web application’s response to that action.

Well, the pictures of the lorries without drivers definitely look very dystopian-like. It is very high-tech and suitable during these times but the thing is, how many companies can do the same and can this be applied to other sectors as well?

5G was supposed to be rolled out this September in our country it has now been pushed forward to 2021. What do you think we can do as a nation once 5G is available? Let us know!
