DAP’s Teresa Kok recently found herself under police investigation for a video clip of her where she appeared to be threatening the police in Johor.

However, it seems that she has found herself in even more controversy. On Monday (28 February), former MP Wee Choo Keong shared an image of what appeared to be Kok online shopping on her laptop during a Parliamentary session.

MP is taking free salary as she is not working. Shopping for clothes on Shopee or Lazada while the Parliament is ongoing!” claimed Wee.

“Parliament Malaysia boleh! Don’t you sympathise with the rakyat? Parliament has become a circus. Is this the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) disease?”

Najib chips in

The image went viral on social media and even caught the attention of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who took the opportunity to mock Teresa Kok.

In his post, Najib pointed out that a former DAP MP is mocking a current DAP MP.

Bekas YB DAP bidas YB DAP.Bersangka baik. Mungkin bekas menteri sawit sedang tinjau kenaikan harga barang import susulan gangguan sektor pengangkutan dunia?P.S. Lazada atau Shopee?

“Maybe the former minister of oil palm was surveying to see if there is an increase in prices of import goods following the disturbance of the global transport sector?” he added.

“P.S. Lazada or Shopee,” he sarcastically questioned Kok.

Teresa Kok says that it was just an ad

Following the backlash, Kok went on to clarify that it was just an ad on a news portal site.

“While I was reading news on news portals, I saw the advertisement, so I clicked on the advertisement before backing out to continue reading the news,” she said.

“Wee and Najib appear to have nothing better to do and are trying to find issues.”

She also shared a copy of the advertisement to prove her innocence.

Najib mocks her again

Despite Kok’s proof of her innocence, Najib seems unconvinced. In another Facebook post, he said that, “She denies that she was online shopping during Parliament time. She said that she mistakenly clicked on an ad whilst reading the news.”

“But the question is, why is she busy reading the news while the YDP Agong is speaking in the Dewan Rakyat? PS: Lazada or Shopee? Which has more bargains,” he added.

Dia nafi dia online shopping masa Parlimen. Dia kata dia tersalah klik iklan semasa dia membaca berita hari ini….
