Recently, a video of a Singaporean man running out to save his car which was parked next to a burning vehicle went viral.

In a video shared by @sgvirality on Instagram, a man, who had apparently rushed to his car wearing only his underwear, successfully managed to drive his car out of the parking lot and park it in front of a row of other parked cars.

However, his actions did not go unnoticed by the authorities. Police officers could be heard warning the driver not to approach his car, and two officers confronted him, with one banging on the rear door of the car and another instructing him to “Come outside.”

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the fire originated in the engine compartment of the vehicle. They managed to quickly respond to the scene and extinguished the blaze using a water jet. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The video sparked discussions among netizens. While some agreed with the man’s actions and criticised the police officers for acting too harshly, others believed that the authorities were in the right and that the man shouldn’t have risked his life for his car.
