As East Malaysians, we’ve always wondered why West Malaysians have a bigger tendency to purchase 4x4s for their daily drives.

Not only are 4x4s less economical than your run-of-the-mill Myvi or Axia, it is also quite expensive to maintain. Now we know why.

Taking to Facebook, Sabah Info shared just how bad their roads are, by using emojis to best plead their case.

Those are a lot of smiles that are upside down!

Taking to Twitter, one netizen explained further and shared the reality most Sabahans are made to live with.

“This is how bad the Tawau-Kalabakan-Kimanis-KK road, which is unfortunately one of the major highways connecting Sabah.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, these are NOT the roads that we take when we are heading to more rural areas, but are major road connecting districts such as Tawau, Nabawan, Keningau and Kota Kinabalu.”

“The Kalabakan route is a part of the Pan Borneo. Set to be completed in the third phase.”

“The problem here is, there is delay in the first phase.”

That is bad!
