More often than not, disputes that happen on the road can be resolved quickly if the parties involved are civil and tolerant. However, when one party insists on picking a fight, that’s when things can drag on.

Recently, a video of a brawl between two men on a road in Ipoh went viral on various social media platforms.

The first man in a striped T-shirt can be seen trying to assault the second man in red while a few other road users tried to break up the two.

The incident is believed to have taken place on Monday (November 7) at Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, Ipoh, Perak.

Unhappy about being scolded

According to the Ipoh District Police Chief ACP Yahaya bin Hassan, it all started when a Honda City driven by a local man collided with a Toyota Camry driven by a local 52-year-old woman.

He said the collision happened because the driver of the Honda City was driving against traffic. Luckily, there were no casualties.

Still, a few nearby road users who witnessed the incident came forward to help the victim and reprimand the driver who was at fault.

Upset that some members of the public was reprimanding him, the driver then attempted to attack one of them – the man in red.

He tried multiple times to hit the man in red while being held back by other road users, before the man in red lost his patience and tackled him to the ground.

This led many netizens to praise the man in red for teaching the driver a lesson.

“Steady, bro in the red shirt.”

The suspect has been arrested

Yahaya also added that police has received two reports from the victim involving the accident and the fight. They will be investigated under Section 353 of the Penal Code and Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

“A quick investigation by the police has resulted in the arrest of the 47-year-old suspect who drove the Honda City,” he said.

The suspect was taken to the Ipoh Magistrate’s Court today (Nov 9) for a remand application.
