So, during the tragic Batang Kali landslide that claimed 31 lives, Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that financial aid will be provided to the victims.

This meant that RM1,000 of Bantuan Wang Ihsan (BWI) would be given to every surviving victim while RM10,000 would be provided to the families of deceased victims.

Following this, Pro-Perikatan Nasional (PN) activist and politician Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, condemned the government for using the people’s money to provide compensation for the tragic event, as showcased in a video by the PAS Pusaat Twitter page.

He brought up the matter during a PAS-PN talk in Melaka, where he also claimed that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) led state-government are taking bribes.

Chegubard said, “It’s not like I want to criticise the government for taking responsibility towards the victims, but what I do want to criticise is that, with the economic situation, the difficult situation today, when taking bribes it’s the people in power in Selangor, Pakatan Harapan,”

“But when they want to pay compensation, the people’s money is used. Our money is used.”

His statement didn’t sit well with Malaysians, considering the people’s money should be used to help those in need.

“The people’s money is for the people la, stupid.”

Money 3

“I would be more satisfied that my money is being used to help people instead of paying for the salaries of useless ministers.”

Money 4

“Okay la for the people’s money to be used to help people who are affected by disasters than it being used to buy new Mercedes for their excos.”
