It’s no secret that Malaysians aren’t fans of VIP convoys, but we don’t do anything about it as a majority of the time, VIP convoys involve royalty, government officials along with PDRM officers.

But, what happens when the convoy isn’t conducted by the authorities?

The 我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians Facebook page recently took to their profile to showcase dashcam footage of what looks like a private convoy somewhere in Selangor. The video showed a convoy of sports cars escorted by motorcyclists in orange vests.

我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians simply questioned, “Real police?”

In the video, the convoy could be seen on the middle lane of the road, and as the vehicle with the dashcam tries to past the convoy on the fast lane, the motorcycle escort moved in front of the vehicle to block it, allowing the convoy to overtake it on the fast lane and move ahead.

Netizens have since shared their discontent and questioned the legality of the situation.

We genuinely hope that the authorities take notice of this and share their thoughts and actions on whether private convoys are legal, or not.
