The BERSATU Sepang Division Chief, Datuk Suhaimi Ghazali has tested positive for Covid-19 only a week after he attended a full-scale haircutting event on 9 and 10 January.

On 16 January, the Sepang Division chief took to his private Facebook page to announce that he went for a second swab test after undergoing self-quarantine six days ago, as reported by Kosmo! Online.

“I apologize for any inconvenience to the community and close contact. I pray that all my medical treatments will go smoothly and that I recover soon,” he writes in his now-deleted Facebook post.

Days before MCO 2.0 was announced, Suhaimi had organised a large-scale haircutting event in 3 different areas around Sepang, Selangor ending in Dengkil. Over 20 kids received free haircuts over the two-day event, as seen in a Facebook post on PPBM-Bersatu Sepang’s page.

YB Minister of Women Development, Family and Community, Dato Seri Rina Mohd Harun, who participated in the event’s opening ceremony, has also since tested positive for Covid-19 on 11 January, while Dengkil State Assemblyman (ADUN), Adhif Syan Abdullah, who attended the event’s closing ceremony previously tested positive on 26 December last year.
