Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday (23 June) announced the MADANI affordable housing scheme in Kuala Lumpur to enable the low-income group to own their own homes.
Anwar elaborated that the scheme involves 5 projects and would be developed this year. He added that it would provide opportunities to the M40 and B40 categories, as well as youths to own homes with prices ranging from RM150,000 to RM200,000.
The 5 projects include Residensi Prihatin MADANI, Residensi MADANI, Residensi Sejahtera MADANI, Rumah Majlis MADANI and Rumah Ihsan MADANI.
According to BERNAMA, the Prime Minister said that all the residential projects have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a parking space, with an area of at least 700sq ft.
Residensi Prihatin MADANI is targeted at the M40 group with a household income of RM7,000 per month and below, withĀ 800 sq ft homesĀ valued at RM200,000 per unit offered.
As for Residensi MADANI, he said the 750 sq ft homes, with a value ofĀ Ā RM180,000 per unit, are targeted for the B40 group with a household income of RM5,000 per month and below.
Besides these, the Residensi Sejahtera MADANI project is for singles, newly employed youths as well as newly married young couples. This is targeted at those between the ages of 21 and 30 with a household income of RM4,000 per month, and theĀ property,Ā with an area of āā700 sq ft, is offered at RM150,000 per unit
As for Rumah Majlis MADANI, it is a housing rental scheme for low-income groups who can’t afford their own homes. It is targeted at the M40 and B40 groups who cannot afford to own a house, throughĀ a rental of RM600 per month for five years.
Similarly, the Rumah Ihsan MADANI is also a housing rental scheme targeted at the B40 group and the vulnerable with a rental of RM300 per month.
