The authority issued a notice under Section 11 of the Food Act 1983 which required them to clean up their premise by July 23 (Tuesday).

The health inspectors will come back three days from the date the notice was issued. They will allow the restaurant to be opened again only if the condition of the outlet is satisfactory. The popular restaurant is well known amongst tourists and serves a variety of local dishes.

To make matters worse, this is the second time that the restaurant was instructed to close by the Health Department. The first time the restaurant’s conditions were deemed to be unhygienic by the authorities was back in July 2018.Ā
