PDRM On The Hunt For A Singapore-Registered BMW 4 Series For Dangerous Driving in Johor

Reckless driving does not only endanger yourself but also puts other road users at risk.

Recently, a video that shows a Singapore vehicle driven recklessly has angered netizens. The video was shared by a Facebook page known as Pen Hitam and has since gone viral.

The 41-second video shows the Singapore-registered vehicle, a gold BMW 4 series being driven recklessly by passing through a white Toyota Alphard without signalling. At the beginning of the video, the BMW can also be seen braking at the very last minute at the traffic light.

The video has garnered attention on social media and Malaysians have a lot to say about what they saw.

“I like that the border has reopened, but not the fact that they’re driving like this.”

“Rich and fancy cars but still opt to refuel in Malaysia.”

“That’s normal. Back in their place, step on the pedal for a bit and they reach their destination.”

It did not take long for the video to reach the attention of the police. On Monday (4 April), police from Kota Tinggi, Johor has released a statement and revealed that the incident took place at the traffic light in Felda Gugusan Adela, Johor. An investigation on the gold BMW under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 has also started.

If the driver is found guilty, he/she will face a jail sentence of not more than 5 years and a compound between RM5,000 to RM15,000.

The police also urged the public to drive safely and refrain from any acts that may possibly endanger the driver himself, as well as other road users.
