Even though there are many jobs, it still takes time for an individual to find a job that is right for them.

In times like this, they will need all the financial help they can get; for Muslims, it can come in the form of zakat.

Recently, Lembaga Zakat Selangor posted a letter they received on their Facebook page. The letter was a request to remove an individual from the zakat list.

“I would like to request that my name be removed from the Selangor zakat list as I will have a stable income after September 2022.”

After receiving that letter, the zakat Selangor Zakat institution called the person to ascertain if they really do not need any more help.

The person then said they stand by their choice and that many more people need the help.

“Ustaz, I do not want to be a zakat recipient anymore. InshaAllah, my income is improving, and zakat has helped me up until now.”

“There are more people who need the zakat, and I would like to thank those who gave zakat,” they continued.

The institution then hoped that the individual would get through the tough times they are going through right now.

Many netizens praised the individual for being honourable.

“A servant of Allah who is truthful, Alhamdulillah. Hope that Allah will make things easier for him and next time he’ll be a zakat payer.”

“A truly honourable person. Truthful and grateful.”

In an increasingly materialistic world, it’s hard to find people who are not greedy. We hope that this individual will have many good things coming for them.
