Economic hardships in the wake of the Covid-19 global pandemic have devastated many major businesses, with conglomerates such as hotel chains and even retail stores forced to scale down the size of their operations in the hopes of weathering the oncoming recession. But for smaller businesses, the chances of survival are far slimmer.

And if these photos from a popular real estate Facebook page are anything to go by, many small and medium businesses have already fallen victim to the effects of the two-month-long MCO and a lack of revenue.

Whether it’s your favourite dessert shops or restaurants, it’s apparent from the following images that not every enterprise is bound to survive Covid-19.

We hope that given the current circumstances, more help will be given by the government to help support these small and medium-sized businesses to avoid home-grown enterprises like these from closing down. In the meantime, let’s do what we can to support our local vendors!
