Payment via online transfer, card payment and QR Pay has been practised for a long time. Ever since the pandemic, cashless payments have become part of the new norms in order to minimise physical contact.

However, not all places seem to be ready with cashless payment just yet. recently, on his Twitter account, a Malaysian expressed his annoyance about his recent experience in Pusat Sains Negara.

“It’s called the ‘National Science Centre’ – but only cash transactions are allowed. The worst thing is, they don’t even have an ATM at the place.”

The man was baffled by the fact that not even QR Pay was available at the Pusat Sains Negara when the payment method has even been adopted by night market stalls.

Things got a little troublesome for him initially when he did not enough cash on him. When asked about the ATM machine, the staff said visitors will have to find one at other areas.

Given how we live in a cashless era where transactions are conveniently done online or through cards, that irritated the man greatly.

Fortunately, a man from the souvenir shop, Reyza, came to his rescue.

He transferred the money to Reyza, where the latter gave him the money he needed.

“Thank God for Reyza. I would have waged war with the National Science Centre if he didn’t come to my rescue.”

The post has since gone viral on social media, and Malaysians have taken the opportunity to throw shades on the situation by mocking the place for not making cashless payments available.

‘Sir, you have to understand. It’s the National Science Centre. They’re still examining the cash system.’

‘You have to understand. We’re using the light system here, so we’re 13,000 light-years behind.’

‘I work in a school canteen and I make e-wallet and debit card payments available.’

‘The place has the name of science, but they don’t even apply anything related to science, technology and innovation.’

Cashless payments are undoubtedly easing our lives when it comes to transactions. Do you think the place should’ve followed the norm by making cashless payment available? Do you always have some cash in your wallet for backup?
