Kids love celebrating their birthdays with their favourite themes, such as cartoon characters, animals and more!

But for an 11-year-old boy in Jiangsu, China, his mum had other plans for him.

The boy apparently wanted a Pikachu-themed cake, which his mum had originally ordered. But after discovering that her son was neglecting his schoolwork and studies, she decided to make a last minute change to the cake order.

On his birthday, he received a textbook-themed cake, which was meant to urge him to study since his examinations were coming up.

Though, the cake just left the boy in tears.

A report by Sohu shared that the cake even had a special message for the boy written on it.

“As long as the world does not end, you have to do your homework.”

I guess that’s one way to give your kid a hint.

What would you do if you were in the mum’s shoes? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
