We all know that Asian parents can get a little frustrated when we make mistakes in our studies. They tend to yell, throw things and sometimes pull out the wooden ruler or rotan.

But, one father in China decided enough was enough and ended up taking his frustrations out by laying in the middle of the road and throwing a tantrum when his daughter couldn’t solve a simple mathematical question.

Based on a report by South China Morning Post, the father from Kunshan, eastern China, felt “so angry and so helpless” after conducting multiple lessons with his daughter, only for her to still fail to figure out a subtraction problem.

“My daughter subtracted 700 from 800, she said the result is 900,” the father told a police officer.

The officer noticed the commotion and approached the father as he lay in the middle of traffic, and the father even begged the officer to detain him as he refused to leave.

Eventually, the officer helped the father by taking him over to a nearby footpath and comforting him into going home.

We’re happy that the officer managed to help the father come to his senses, though we also hope that he finds a way to guide his daughter into understanding subtraction.
