A distressing video has been circulating on social media recently, showing an injured monkey on an undisclosed road in Malaysia as vehicles pass it by, almost hitting it multiple times.

The 27-second video was shared by many social media accounts and pages, including this post by X user @nanmanjoi8715.

At the start of the video, you can already see the monkey in the middle of the road trying to crawl to the other side of the road with what seems to be an injured leg. It is unknown how the animal got injured.

At least 3 cars can be seen passing by the monkey, including a blue Proton Saga which drove over it, thankfully without hitting the monkey.

Besides that, drivers of vehicles in the opposite traffic can be seen slowing down after seeing the monkey. A grey Proton Iswara can then be seen slowing down, with the driver carefully manoeuvring to the left to avoid the monkey.

Two other vehicles then pass the monkey by before the video abruptly ends. It is unknown what happened to the wild animal in the aftermath of the video.

In the replies to the X post, many criticised the person who recorded the video for their inaction to save the animal, as well as other road users who simply ignored the injured monkey.

In reference to the individual who recorded the video, one commenter sarcastically said what’s important is to record and then post to TikTok with a sad song so as to garner many likes.

Another commenter shared the same sentiment, saying that the person who recorded the video should’ve brought the injured monkey to safety first and then they can record as long as a video as they want.

Besides that, one netizen slammed the driver of the blue Proton Saga for not having any care in the world while almost running over the injured monkey.

So, what do you guys think of the whole video? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
