A Malaysian woman was left feeling hungry and frustrated after cigarette ash had drifted onto her food that had just arrived at her table while she was at a restaurant.

The woman, WawaMeow, took to her TikTok page to showcase the incident, which she managed to record as she wanted to showcase her food.

In her video, she had just started to dig into her food when a man walked past her as she was sitting at a table placed on the sidewalk of the restaurant. Suddenly, cigarette ash could be seen flying onto her food. According to WawaMeow, the ash came from the cigarette the man was smoking as he walked by.

“Can you imagine how excited I was to eat when suddenly…”

“What is this thing that fell (onto my food)? It turns out to be cigarette ash,” she wrote.

WawaMeow explained that the cigarette ash had not only fallen onto her food, but also into the sauce that was provided on the side. While her partner told her to pick out the cigarette ash, she ultimately put down her cutlery before ending her video.

“Have some common sense”

This incident has since caused Malaysians to call out smokers, urging them to be more considerate of those around them.

“I swear it’s unforgivable, ashing (his cigarette) like that. He is not being aware of his surroundings.”

“The stupidest people are the ones who smoke in public and inconvenience others.”

“If you want to smoke, you can. But look at the situation, don’t do it while you’re walking or where people eat. Not everyone can stand the smell of cigarettes. (Have some) common sense, please.”

“If the ash gets into food like that, if it was me, I would automatically have a bad mood and I’ll go quiet for a long time. (Have some) common sense. To smokers, if you want to smoke, go somewhere away from people.”
