Foreigners from a variety of different countries appear to simply love Malaysia, its culture, and most importantly its food!

So much so that plenty of them have been integrated into our families and society as a whole either by law or by blood.

The Japanese are no stranger to this as plenty of them love the country so much as to call it their second home.

Just recently, one of the daughters of Malaysia’s new Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim shared a photo of her Japanese father in law enjoying a Malaysian favourite, durian!

In a post on her social media pages, Nurul Ilham Anwar shared a picture of her Japanese father in law enjoying his treat of durians.

Her father in law looked so happy as he feasted on the durians!

Anwar has a Japanese relative?

Although it is not exactly a secret, a lot of netizens were surprised to find out that our Prime Minister has a Japanese connection!

In case you never knew, the Prime Minister’s daughter is married to a half-Pakistani, half-Japanese man named Mitsuru Watanabe or better known as Nabe.

“Such diversity in your family.”

Meanwhile, some netizens praised Ilham’s father in law for not being afraid to dig in and try out our local delicacies.

“He is more Malaysian than me.”

We hoped that he really enjoyed those durians!
