The attire of car saleswomen became the debate of a Malaysian recently, as she believes that the dress code has caused arguments and breakups among many couples.

In the Facebook group KL娱乐站, the woman said she is baffled by the short skirts that the car saleswomen put on all the time at work, which do not sit well with some of the elderly as well. However, when couples visit the showroom, she said that most of the men tend to have their eyes fixated on the saleswomen with short skirts, and they will start “having fantasies”.

And apparently that’s what seals the fate of the couples.

“The couples will fight once they get home, and not speak about buying a car”, she said, and listed down possible questions that may arise:

  • Why did you look at that saleswoman?
  • Were you there to buy a car or look at the saleswoman?
  • Can’t you survive without looking at women for a day?
  • Were you looking at her thighs?

The woman then urged the car sales company in Malaysia to impose a ban on short skirts for saleswomen, as she believes not all men are there for the cars.

She said that some perverts will take the opportunity to harass the saleswomen or try to “take a peek” at what’s under the skirt. She then continues to question the motives of wearing short skirts and the consequences it may bring to the customers.

However, the issue did not end there as the woman highlighted the struggles of wearing high heels at work, which may be uncomfortable. She also slammed some of the saleswomen who enjoy taking photos in the car and purposedly put on heavy makeup just for the sake of photography.

“Car sale industry is a serious job, but I don’t know why Malaysian saleswomen wear short skirts.”

The issue that the woman brought up in her post is truly something new as we have rarely heard of issues regarding the outfits of car saleswomen. Do you think her argument is valid, or do you think the dress code of car saleswomen is not important at all?
